About Discovery Quest

An open platform for learning adventures — where anyone can create a quest, and every child can explore one.

What we're building

Discovery Quest turns learning into a journey. Children explore worlds, meet Luna the owl, and master real skills — counting to fractions in Math Quest, letters to reading in English Quest, with more worlds charting their course. The activities are designed to be warm, playful, and genuinely kid-safe.

Open by design

Underneath, Discovery Quest splits the magic in two: a shared engine of playful building blocks, and the courses that ride on it. Because a course is just content — not game code — teachers, parents, and creators can write one, and an AI can help draft it. The engine and course format are open source, so the whole community can build on them.

You can explore the open platform on GitHub, or read how to create a course.

Who's behind it

Discovery Quest is built and operated by Pavel Kerbel, an independent developer based in Israel. It started as a way to make the best learning adventures open and available to every curious kid — not locked away — and it's growing in the open.
